Eco-friendly comfort

At Black Pig Lodge we prioritise sustainability without compromising comfort. Our eco-friendly amenities include solar powered energy, we offer to recycle any glass, plastics and tins you use during your stay, and when available, you can pick organically grown salad, vegetables and herbs from our polytunnel.

Features

A warm welcome

A welcome pack with home-made bread, home-produced honey, tea, coffee, and sugar awaits your arrival and you will find a pint of milk in the fridge. We also provide toilet rolls, washing up liquid, and hand soap, but no other toiletries. A hairdryer is provided. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know.

We’ll keep you entertained

We provide a radio, a selection of board games, cards and books. We also have free WiFi. We deliberately do not provide a television. Our visitors appreciate a break from ‘the real world’.

We’re well equipped

The kitchenette is well equipped with an airfryer, fridge with small freezer section, kettle, toaster and two ring hob. We also provide a good range of utensils.

Bedding provided

The Lodge is fully equipped with sheets, bath towels, tea towels and cleaning utensils for the kitchenette. The bed is fully made up for your arrival.

We’re well placed

Garrison is just a 5 minute drive from the Lodge where there is a small supermarket, off licence, cashpoint, post office, two pubs, a fishing tackle shop and a small fishing boat hire, and pharmacy. We are 1.5 hour's drive from Ireland West (Knock) Airport, and 2.5 hour's drive from Dublin, Belfast and Galway.

Highly adaptable

We have standard electricity sockets for Irish and UK appliances. If you are coming from outside Ireland or the UK, you will need to bring your own adaptor plug(s).

Clean, green energy

We use solar panels to provide clean energy for hot water, heating and lighting. The bedroom and kitchenette have electric portable radiators so that you can independently set your preferred temperature. The shower room benefits from underfloor heating in the colder months. There is no open fire.

Outdoor living

We provide a seating area just outside the Lodge. We are also happy for you to look around our garden to the front of the house where you will find grassy (sometimes uneven) paths, meadow flowers, our polytunnel, beehive, another seating area and the Black Pig Studio. If Paul is painting in his Studio, please feel free to pop in and say hello. The outside space is very quiet, with hardly any passing traffic.
